Hi @lynnewesolowski

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If you're having trouble connecting your HP 6055e printer to your Mac, there are a few steps you can follow to troubleshoot the issue. Here's a guide to help you fix the connection problem:

1. Check Printer and Mac Network Connection

First, ensure both your Mac and the printer are on the same Wi-Fi network.

For the Printer:

  • Check that your HP 6055e printer is connected to Wi-Fi. If you're unsure, you can print a Network Configuration or Wi-Fi status page directly from the printer's control panel. Refer to your printer’s manual on how to print this page (usually found in the settings under Network or Wireless).
  • If it's not connected, try reconnecting your printer to your Wi-Fi network by using the printer’s wireless setup feature.

For Your Mac:

  • Make sure your Mac is connected to the same network.
  • Verify this by going to System Preferences > Network and checking your Wi-Fi connection.

2. Update Printer Drivers and Software

  • Download the Latest Drivers:
    • Visit the HP Support website and search for your printer model (HP 6055e).
    • Download and install the latest macOS drivers for your printer.
    • You can also install the HP Smart app from the Mac App Store if you haven't done so already. HP Smart is a great way to manage your printer, check ink levels, and troubleshoot issues.

3. Add the Printer Manually in macOS

If the printer isn't showing up automatically, you can try adding it manually.

  1. Open System Preferences on your Mac.
  2. Go to Printers & Scanners.
  3. Click the plus (+) button to add a printer.
  4. Your HP 6055e printer should appear in the list of available printers. Select it, then click Add.
  5. If the printer does not appear, make sure it’s powered on and connected to the same Wi-Fi network. You may also want to try restarting both your printer and your Mac to ensure the connection is fresh.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
