If your new HP laptop can't print to your new HP DeskJet 4258e printer, let’s walk through a few troubleshooting steps to get things working smoothly.

1. Install HP Smart App

This is the easiest and most reliable way to set up your printer:

  • Download from the HP Smart App.
  • Open the app and click “Set up a new printer”.
  • Make sure your printer is powered on and in setup mode (Wi-Fi light blinking).
  • Follow the on-screen instructions to connect via Wi-Fi.


 2. Check Printer Connection

  • Ensure your printer is connected to the same Wi-Fi network as your laptop.
  • You can print a Network Configuration Page from the printer to confirm.


3. Install Full Feature Software

If the HP Smart App doesn’t work, install the full driver manually: HP DeskJet 4258e All-in-One Printer | HP® Support

  • Choose your operating system.
  • Download and install the Full Feature Software and Drivers.


4. Run HP App
