Hi @Archieb48,
Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding your printer!
We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.
Try these steps:
Restart the Printer and Computer: Restart both the printer and the computer to clear possible error conditions.
Restore Wi-Fi Setup Mode:
- Printers without a touchscreen control panel:
- Press and hold the Wireless button at the back of the printer for 5 seconds until the light starts flashing.
- Within 2 minutes, press and hold the WPS button on your router until the connection process begins. The Wi-Fi light will turn solid blue when it connects to the network.
Move the Printer and Computer Closer to the Router: Ensure the printer and computer are within 8 meters (26 feet) of the router or range extender to maintain a strong connection.
Check Wi-Fi Signal:
- Ensure the blue Wi-Fi light on the printer is solid and not flashing. If it is flashing, the printer is not connected to the network.
- Ensure your computer is connected to the correct network.
Reset the Printer's Network Settings:
- Disconnect any USB cables from the printer.
- On the printer control panel, press and hold the Wireless and Cancel buttons simultaneously for 5 seconds until the network settings are reset.
Add Printer Using IP Address: On your Windows 11 PC:
- Open Settings > Bluetooth & devices > Printers & scanners.
- Select Add a printer or scanner and wait for it to search for printers.
- If the printer is not found, select The printer that I want isn't listed.
- Choose Add a printer using a TCP/IP address or hostname, then click Next.
- Enter your printer's IP address (find it from the printer's network settings page or in the HP Smart app) and follow the on-screen instructions to complete the setup.
Check for Software Updates: Ensure your printer's firmware is up to date:
- Go to HP Software and Driver Downloads, search for your printer model, and download any new firmware updates.
I hope this helps.
