HP DeskJet 3755 All-in-One Printer

I never had issues really with my printer but I got new internet not to long ago which I did successfully connect to my printer and it worked fine. now all of a sudden when I try to print my phone tells me the printer is unavailable. when I try through hp smart it is telling me device is not connected but my printer is indeed connected and has great signal. i also tried from my laptop and logged into my hp account on hp smart and it is not able to find a printer at all. my wifi direct print wont work either... I can connect to the wifi direct from my phone but then it gets the spinning ball of death and will not actually let me hit print. I  was thinking maybe it needed an update but I cant figure out how to do that. can somebody please help me!

Hi @Mollaaaayyy ,

Welcome to The HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

It sounds like a frustrating issue! Here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot and hopefully resolve the connectivity problem with your HP DeskJet 3755:

Check Printer Connection:

  • Ensure your printer is properly connected to your new Wi-Fi network. Sometimes, after a change in network settings, the printer might need to be reconnected.
  • On the printer’s control panel, navigate to the network settings and ensure it is connected to your current Wi-Fi network. You may need to reconnect it by selecting your Wi-Fi network and entering the password.

Restart Devices:

  • Restart your printer, router, and any devices you're using to print (phone, laptop). This can often resolve temporary connectivity issues.

Update Printer Firmware: Update the firmware on an HP printer

  • Check if there are any firmware updates available for your printer. You can do this through the HP Smart app or by visiting the HP Support website.
  • If you can't use HP Smart, you might need to download the latest firmware manually from the HP website and install it via USB connection if possible.

Reinstall HP Smart App:

  • Try uninstalling and reinstalling the HP Smart app on your phone and laptop. Sometimes the app needs a fresh install to recognize the printer again.

Reset Network Settings on Printer:

  • Resetting the network settings on your printer might help it reconnect to your Wi-Fi network. This can usually be done from the printer’s menu under network settings or by performing a factory reset if necessary (check your printer manual for specific instructions).

Check Network Configuration:

  • Ensure that your router settings have not changed in a way that could block the printer. Sometimes, router security settings or firewall settings might affect connectivity.

Use HP Print and Scan Doctor: HP Print and Scan Doctor

  • If you have access to a Windows laptop, you can use the HP Print and Scan Doctor tool to diagnose and fix printer issues. Download it from the HP website and run it to see if it can identify and fix the problem.

Check for IP Address Conflicts:

  • Make sure there are no IP address conflicts on your network. If possible, check the IP address assigned to your printer and ensure it is unique and not being used by another device.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
