My HP 5255 OfficeJet Printer prints DOCs, PDFs, TXTs ok locally however when any of those file types are sent to my HP 5255 OfficeJet Printer via ePrint they print in the top middle of an 8.5x11 inch sheet of paper, compressed to fit as if on 4x6 inch paper. I have explored HP Smart/My Printers/ePrint Access and see no "ePrint Preferences" menu . The only menu there are for ePring Access and ePrint Address. Where is the ePrint Preferences menu?
How do I make these documents print at their full proper letter size?

Hi @k1oiq-ajo
Welcome to The HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I understand you want to adjust the paper size settings for ePrint on your HP 5255 OfficeJet Printer, you typically need to modify the settings through the ePrint website or the HP Smart app. Here's a step-by-step guide to help you:
Access the ePrint website:
- Open a web browser on your computer and navigate to the HP ePrint website. You can usually find this by searching for "HP ePrint" or by entering the printer's IP address directly into the browser's address bar.
Sign in to your HP ePrint account:
- Log in to your HP ePrint account using your credentials. If you don't have an account, you may need to create one.
Locate printer settings:
- Once logged in, locate the settings or preferences section for your printer. This might be under a "Settings," "Preferences," or "Manage Printers" tab or menu.
Adjust paper size settings:
- Within the printer settings, look for options related to paper size or print settings. You should be able to specify the default paper size for ePrint jobs. Ensure that it is set to Letter (8.5x11 inches) or the appropriate size for your documents.
Save changes:
- After adjusting the settings, make sure to save your changes.
If you're unable to find the paper size settings through the ePrint website, you can try using the HP Smart app on your computer:
Download and install HP Smart:
- If you haven't already, download and install the HP Smart app from the official HP website or through the Microsoft Store.
Add your printer:
- Launch the HP Smart app and add your HP 5255 OfficeJet Printer if it's not already added.
Access printer settings:
- Once your printer is added, look for printer settings or preferences within the HP Smart app. This might be under a "Settings" or "Printer Options" section.
Adjust paper size settings:
- Within the printer settings, look for options related to paper size or print settings. Make sure the default paper size for ePrint jobs is set to Letter (8.5x11 inches) or the appropriate size for your documents.
Save changes:
- After making adjustments, save your changes and exit the settings menu.
Refer to this document: HP OfficeJet 5255 All-in-One Printer User manual
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.

I was able to follow your guidance to the tee but your advice did not work. After logging in and connecting to my HP OfficeJet 5200 I can see Settings>Preferences>Tray and Paper Management>Tray and Paper Settings and choose Letter (8.5x11 in) [was already the choice presented] and Paper Type Plain Paper [was already there] . Then I clicked on Apply and Home.
Sent a page via email to the printer's eddress and the page that printed was still 4x6 at the top center of an 8.5x11 paper.
So I did all the steps again, this time around turning the printer off and on again after I exited the eprint menu. Same result.
What next please?

Hi Gaya, what will happen if whilst I'm in the printer's Settings Menu I select Restore Defaults?
Will I have to start over installing the printer, setting the name, eddress, and all that stuff?
Someone else recommended contacting HP and having them reset something to factory defaults.
