HP DeskJet 2755e All-in-One Printer

I had to change my wifi password on xfinity router and now I need to change it on my printer so it can find it but I have no idea how.  My printer is an HP Deskjet 2755e.  Can I do it from my Mac?

Yes, you can update the Wi-Fi password on your HP Deskjet 2755e printer from your Mac. Here's a general guide on how you might do this.

 

Connect your Mac to the new Wi-Fi network: Ensure that your Mac is connected to the same Wi-Fi network that you want your printer to connect to.

Find your printer's IP address:

  • On your Mac, go to the "Apple menu" and select "System Preferences."
  • Choose "Printers & Scanners" or "Print & Fax."
  • Select your HP Deskjet 2755e printer from the list.
  • Look for the printer's IP address. It might be displayed in the printer information.

Access the printer's Embedded Web Server (EWS):

  • Open a web browser (Safari, Chrome, Firefox, etc.).
  • Enter the printer's IP address in the address bar and press Enter.

Log in to the EWS:

  • If prompted, log in. The default username and password are usually both "admin." However, you might need to refer to your printer's manual for the correct credentials.

Navigate to the Wireless settings:

  • Once logged in, look for the "Network" or "Wireless" section.
  • You should find an option to update or change the Wi-Fi settings.

Update Wi-Fi settings:

  • Locate the Wi-Fi settings or similar option and update the SSID (Wi-Fi network name) and password with the new ones.
  • Save or apply the changes.

Reconnect your printer:

  • After updating the Wi-Fi settings on your printer, it may take a moment for the changes to take effect.
  • On your Mac, go back to "Printers & Scanners" in System Preferences.
  • Remove the old printer entry if it's still listed and add the printer again by clicking the "+" button and selecting your HP Deskjet 2755e from the list.
