Hi

I have an HP Deskjet 2600 printer.  I have recently moved house and am trying to set up the printer so that I can print wirelessly from my laptop.  I don't know how I am supposed to connect my printer to the wi-fi, the same wi-fi that my laptop is connected to.  Please help!!!!

Thanks!

Welcome to the HP Community --

The user guide includes what you need to know --

Open

User Guide - HP DeskJet 2600 All-in-One series

First -

Clear the "old network" from the printer

Section  -  To restore network settings to default settings - Page 69

- Important -

The printer only supports connections using 2.4GHz.

If you are using a standard "router" controlled network,

Section - Connect your printer to a wireless network with a router - Page 62

In general, assuming a similar type of network to the configuration you had in the previous house, the setup is the same -- that is, what worked then will perhaps work this time.

What else?

Should the standard network connection method prove stubborn -- or if you can use a simpler option for Wireless, consider using Wi-Fi Direct.

No network router, no Web Services -- Wi-Fi Direct uses the wireless radio on your printer to connect to your supported wireless capable device (computer, tablet, phone).

Section - Connect wirelessly to the printer without a router - Page 65

What’s the difference between HP Wireless Direct and Wi-Fi Direct?

Wireless Direct printers must be connected manually.

Wi-Fi Direct printers can connect via manual, PIN, or push-button.

Both require a WPA2 password
