HP Officejet 6950
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I would need to connect my printer HP officejet 6950 by wire instead of wifi.

I thought to an adapter (USB-RJ45), like already done with my laptop (that hasn't an RJ45 port as well).

Do you think it could work the same?

thanks

marco

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

I do not quite understand your question. You can connect your Printer using an Ethernet cable, if that is your doubt.

Let me know if this helps.

Hi Betty and thanks for your reply, even if I'm a bit puzzled about it, since my new HP6950 has NOT an ethernet port...

Actually when I bought it, few days ago, my main requirement was the RJ45 port to connect it by ethernet cable, and the technical specs and description reported the ethernet port as present, but it isn't.

I'm highly concerned about this mistake but don't think I can do anything now.

I guess I can only find a way to wire it

Please do go through the specification under connectivity: https://support.hp.com/in-en/document/c05206079

Hi Betty,

yes I already seen those specs and my concerns weren;t for HP but for my vendor descriptions...

I have to say that in HP specs you can find reported "supported 802.1 Wired" that can leave some doubt

but unfortunately I trusted my vendor and, very superficially, I bought without a double check on HP specs

btw, can I use an adapter USB-RJ45 to connect my printer by ethernet cable?

thanks
