Hi @Bob19502,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out!

I understand how it must be when your printer won’t connect wirelessly to your Mac.

In the meantime, here are few steps you can try:

01.Check Wireless Connection

Printers often fail to connect if Wi-Fi is unstable.

On printer: Wireless → Settings → Network Setup

Confirm the printer is connected to the same Wi-Fi network as your Mac

Restart your router and printer

Avoid guest networks or 5GHz-only bands

02.Add Printer on Mac

Manually adding the printer ensures macOS recognizes it.

On Mac: Apple Menu → System Settings → Printers & Scanners

Click Add Printer, Scanner, or Fax

Select your HP printer from the list

If not visible, try adding via IP address

03.Update Drivers & Firmware

Outdated software can block wireless communication.

Visit HP Support website https://support.hp.com/  for your printer model

Download latest macOS drivers

Update printer firmware via HP Smart app

04.Test with USB Cable

Connecting via USB helps confirm if the issue is wireless-only.

Plug printer directly into your Mac

If printing works, the issue is limited to Wi-Fi setup

I hope this helps.

I'm an HP Employee.
