Hi @mikeg74,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

To connect your iPad with the HP Smart Tank Plus 650 printer, follow these steps:

Ensure Bluetooth is On: Make sure Bluetooth is enabled on your iPad. Go to
Settings > Bluetooth and turn it on.

Check Wi-Fi Network: Confirm that both your iPad and HP printer are connected to the same Wi-Fi network.

Download the HP App:

Add Your Printer to the HP App:

  • Open the HP app.
  • Tap the plus sign (+) or "Add Printer" option.
  • The app should automatically detect printers on the same network. If your printer appears, tap on it to add it.

Set Up the Printer:

  • If the printer doesn't appear, ensure the printer is in a ready state and connected to the network.
  • You may need to restore your printer’s network settings to set up Wi-Fi. Check the printer manual for instructions on restoring Wi-Fi settings or entering Wi-Fi setup mode.

Check for Firmware Updates: Ensure your printer firmware is up-to-date by navigating to Settings, Official HP® Support or Support in the HP app.

Restart Devices: If the printer is still not detected, try restarting your iPad, the printer, and the Wi-Fi router.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have an amazing day!
