@sked10, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding Connection Issues for HP Laser MFP 137fnw!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

If your HP Laser MFP 137fnw is not connecting to your new Vantiva model FGA232aptn router, here are several steps you can take to troubleshoot and resolve the issue:

1. Verify Network Settings

  • Ensure the router and the printer are powered on.
  • Make sure the wireless radio on your printer is turned on.
  • Verify that the printer and the computer are connected to the same network SSID.
  • Print a network configuration page from your printer to check the current network settings.

2. Check Wireless Network Settings

Print a network configuration report from your printer to determine:

  • The Service Set Identifier (SSID) is correct.
  • The wireless encryption and security settings (e.g., WPA2, AES) match those configured on your router.
  • The printer is within range of the wireless router, typically within 30 meters (100 feet).

3. Reconnect the Printer to the Network

Reset Network Settings:

  • On the printer control panel, go to Settings > Network Setup > Restore Network Settings to reset the network settings.

Reconfigure Wireless Setup:

  • Use the printer control panel to connect to the wireless network:
    • Press the Menu button, go to Network > Wireless Setup Wizard, and follow the on-screen prompts to select your SSID and enter the password.
  • Alternatively, use WPS (Wi-Fi Protected Setup) to connect:
    • Press and hold the WPS button on your printer for about 2 seconds to activate WPS.
    • Press the WPS button on your router within 2 minutes.

4. Disable Any Interfering Network Devices

Make sure your router does not have conflicting or overlapping settings with other devices that could interfere with the printer's connection.

Hope this helps!

Take care, and have an amazing day!
