Hi @peggylane85,
Welcome to the HP Support Community.
I understand that you are facing connectivity issues. I’d like to help!
Make sure, your printer and your device are on the same network as 2.4GHZ only.
Is it a private (Home network) or a public Wi-Fi connection? Wi-Fi direct? Or Hotspot?
What device are you using the printer with a Windows computer, Mac, Android, or iPhone?
To connect your HP Deskjet 2541 to your wireless internet, follow these steps:
Step 1: Gather Network Information
Make sure you have the following details about your wireless network:
- Network name (SSID)
- Network password (WPA/WPA2 key)
Step 2: Prepare the Printer
Turn on the Printer:
- Make sure your printer is powered on.
Enable Wireless Mode:
- On the printer control panel, press the Wireless button (it looks like a radio tower) to enable wireless mode.
Step 3: Connect the Printer to the Wireless Network
There are two methods to connect your HP Deskjet 2541 to your wireless network: using WPS (Wi-Fi Protected Setup) and the HP Auto Wireless Connect method.
Method 1: WPS (Wi-Fi Protected Setup)
If your router supports WPS, follow these steps:
Press the WPS Button on the Router:
- Locate the WPS button on your router and press it. This will usually be labeled "WPS" or display a symbol with two arrows forming a circle.
Activate WPS on the Printer:
- Within two minutes, press and hold the Wireless button on your printer until the wireless light starts blinking.
The printer should automatically connect to the wireless network.
Method 2: HP Auto Wireless Connect
If your router does not support WPS or you prefer this method, follow these steps:
Install HP Printer Software:
- On your computer, go to the HP Support page.
- Enter your printer model (HP Deskjet 2541) and download the full-feature driver and software.
Run the Software Installer:
- Open the downloaded file and follow the on-screen instructions.
- When prompted to select a connection type, choose Wireless.
Follow On-Screen Instructions:
- The software will automatically search for your printer and configure the wireless connection.
- Follow the prompts to complete the wireless setup.
Kindly find the next set of steps in the next post.
Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance

Step 4: Verify the Connection
Print a Network Configuration Page:
- On the printer control panel, press and hold the Wireless button and the Start Copy Black button simultaneously for a few seconds.

Check Connection Status:

Step 5: Add the Printer to Your Computer
Open Settings:
- On your computer, open Settings.
Add Printer:
- Go to Devices > Printers & scanners.
- Select Add a printer or scanner.

Troubleshooting Tips
