Hi @PFox1,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

A blinking blue light on your HP OfficeJet Pro 8139e means the printer is in wireless setup mode but hasn’t successfully connected to Wi-Fi yet. This usually happens during initial setup or after a network reset.

Why It’s Blinking

  • The printer is searching for a Wi-Fi network.
  • The HP app hasn’t completed setup.
  • Incorrect Wi-Fi credentials or incompatible network (e.g., 5 GHz only).

Simple Fix Steps

1. Reset Network Settings

  • On the printer control panel:
    • Press and hold Wireless and Cancel together for 5 seconds.
    • This restores network defaults.

2. Use HP App

3. Keep Bluetooth On

  • HP App uses Bluetooth for setup.
  • Enable Bluetooth on your phone or PC during setup.

4. Router Check

  • Ensure your Wi-Fi is 2.4 GHz (printer doesn’t support 5 GHz only).
  • Disable VPN or firewall temporarily.

5. Alternative: Wireless Setup Wizard

  • On printer panel:
    • Setup > Network Settings > Wireless Setup Wizard
    • Select your Wi-Fi and enter the password.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have an amazing day!
