Hi @Zebredellas,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
The HP DeskJet 2810e is primarily a printer and scanner. However, it does not come with the ability to scan documents directly to email.
To scan a document and email it, you'll need to follow these general steps.
- Scan the Document: Use the scanner function on your HP Deskjet 2810e to scan the document to your computer. Place the document face-down on the scanner bed or in the document feeder, depending on the model, and initiate the scan.
- Save the Scanned Document: After scanning, save the document to your computer. You can choose a file format like PDF, JPEG, or PNG, depending on your preferences.
- Compose Email: Open your email client or webmail service on your computer.
- Attach the Scanned Document: Compose a new email and attach the scanned document from your computer. Most email clients or webmail services have an option to attach files. Click on the attachment icon and navigate to the location where you saved the scanned document.
- Send Email: Once the document is attached, enter the recipient's email address, subject, and any additional message you want to include in the email. Then, send the email.
While this method involves a few more steps compared to directly scanning to email, it should allow you to accomplish the task effectively with your HP DeskJet 2810e. If you frequently need to scan documents to email and prefer a more streamlined process, you may want to consider investing in a printer/scanner that supports direct scanning to email functionality.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
