I do not find wifi direct password on my HP officejet 3830. The only way to connect my smartphone ti the printer is to reset the printer on factory settings (no password for wifi direct), but as soon as I connect the printer to my wifi network, a password is needed for wifi direct and I cannot find it. It is shadowed everywhere. Thank you for helping

Hi @Sansvingt ,
Thanks for sharing the details. Try the password as 12345678 and see if that works.

Hi @Sansvingt,
Welcome to the HP Support Community.
I'd be happy to help you!
Usually, when your printer is asking you to supply a password, you have the option to turn it on in the printer called "Wireless Direct".
Wifi Direct turns the printer into a "Wi-Fi hotspot" that generates its own wifi signal. This allows usage without a network.
1. From the printer control panel, touch (Wi-Fi Direct).
2. Touch Settings, and then Wi-Fi Direct to turn it on.
3. Press the Back button, and then find the Wi-Fi Direct name and password from the Wi-Fi Direct Details menu.
NOTE: Wifi-Direct is to be used only when a wireless network is not available nearby. I would recommend turning this option off if not needed. This way, any wireless device can access the printer through a normal wireless network connection.
