The OfficeJet Pro 8710 all-in-one printer has an Embedded Web Server (EWS) and it has a firewall that can be enabled. I would like documentation, a video, or something that will explain it. Who has experience with this firewall that is inside the printer? Where does HP have a document about this firewall?

Welcome to the HP support community.

May I know why do you want to enable a firewall?

I do not see a way to hide the WiFi broadcast name, so since there is a firewall in the EWS, I thought I might as well use it to keep neighbors from attempting to find an open port or service. I have enabled firewalls on my WiFi LAN router and all of my desktop computers, but there are 7 or more other devices on the LAN that do not have configurable firewalls and users can enable additional networks from many of those devices. That seems like a lot of potential vulnerabilities on my LAN. There would not be a firewall in the EWS, unless there was a reason to have one. Regards, Bill.
