Hi @jeffw8 ,

Welcome to The HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

I understand you are getting an error code E11 on the HP DeskJet Plus 4100 series typically indicates a paper jam or obstruction inside the printer. Here's how to resolve it:

Steps to Fix Error Code E11

Turn Off the Printer

  • Press the power button to turn off the printer.
  • Disconnect the power cord from the back of the printer.

Check for Paper Jams

  • Input Tray: Remove all paper and inspect the input tray for any jammed or torn pieces of paper.
  • Output Tray: Check the output tray and remove any visible paper or debris.
  • Inside the Printer: Open the ink cartridge access area and inspect for any jammed paper or objects. Be cautious of moving parts.
  • Rear Access Door: If your printer has a rear access door, open it and check for any paper jams.

Clear Paper Path

  • Remove any stuck paper gently to avoid tearing. Use both hands and pull the paper out evenly.
  • Ensure no small pieces of paper remain, as they can cause further jams.

Inspect and Reload Paper

  • Reload the paper tray with the correct size and type of paper.
  • Adjust the paper width guides to fit snugly against the paper without bending it.

Restart the Printer

  • Reconnect the power cord and turn the printer back on.
  • Check if the error persists.

Perform a Printer Reset

  • If the error still appears, perform a reset:
    • Turn off the printer.
    • Disconnect the power cord and wait for 60 seconds.
    • Reconnect the power cord and turn the printer on.

If the Issue Persists

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
