I am attempting to sign up for Instant Ink. I get an error message saying my printer is offline; however, It is connected to my wireless network.

I have tried restarting the printer and did a computer restart yesterday.

My printer warranty has expired.  What can I do now?

Hi @PDEF19491,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

If you're receiving an error message stating that your printer is offline while signing up for HP Instant Ink, here are some steps you can follow to resolve the issue, even if your warranty has expired:

Check Printer Connection:

  • Ensure that your printer is properly connected to your wireless network.
  • Move the printer and computer, or mobile device, closer to the wireless router to improve signal quality.
  • Confirm that the printer's wireless feature is enabled. Many printers have a wireless light or button that should be illuminated or blinking when the connection is active.

Check Network Status:

  • Verify that your internet connection is stable by opening a web page on your connected device.
  • Restart your router by unplugging the power cord, waiting for 15 seconds, and reconnecting it.

Printer Status:

  • Ensure that the printer is turned on and not in sleep mode. Wake it up by pressing the power or touch panel button.

Update Printer Settings:

  • Log in to your printer settings through a browser by entering its IP address in the address bar.
  • Ensure that Web Services are enabled, as Instant Ink requires this to communicate with HP's servers.

Restart Devices:

  • Perform a cold restart of all devices involved: printer, router, and computer/mobile device.

HP App:

Check for Firmware Updates:

  • Visit the HP Support site for your printer model to check for and install any pending firmware updates. Official HP® Support

    I hope this helps.

Take care and have an amazing day!
