I have recently purchased an OfficeJet Pro 8022e. Although I connected an ethernet cable to the ethernet port, it does not seem to activate. The printer networking menu shows the port as not connected and the link led on the router remains off.
Although the printer has an physical ethernet port (obviously), it was covered by a removable plug, which I removed in order to connect the network cable. This fact, followed by the ports apparent inactivity led me to believe that ethernet connectivity was not supported with the current version of the printer.
Upon closer inspection I saw that both the link and activity LEDs on the printer port are constantly lit but very faint regardless of the presence of a cable connection to the router. In addition to that, the printer datasheet as well as its configuration menu indicate the possibility of wired ethernet which leads me to believe that the port is faulty.
Has anyone else faced this issue? Is there anything I can do? (f/w update is already done without resolving the issue).
Wi-Fi operates normally and disabling it does not activate wired ethernet.
Any help will be appreciated.

Welcome to the HP support community.
I understand that you are getting issues with your printer's ethernet port, follow these steps to fix the issue.
Perform a power reset
- Turn on the printer, if it is not already on.
- Wait until the printer is idle and silent before you continue.
- With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer.
- Wait at least 30 seconds.
- Plug back the power cable straight to a wall outlet and printer without any surge protector.
- Turn on the printer.
Update the printer firmware
