Common problems for Connectivity Issues
We would like to share some of the most frequently asked questions about Printer Wi-Fi, Connectivity Issues and Offline Status. Check out this link: HP printer is offline or unavailable.

I have an HP DeskJet 3755 printer that I used until two years ago in a rented office. I canceled my subscription to the automatic printer service when I left that office. Now, I've taken this printer out of storage and am trying to set it up in my home, but I can't get it to connect to the wifi in my home. Previously, it was on a different network. How do I get this device to connect? (I have restarted my HP subscription, and I cannot find an answer to my question in the manuals or in the unhelpful HP chatbots.)

@Clint63, Welcome to HP Support Community,

Thank you for posting your query; I’m here to help by guiding you through steps to resolve this issue

Setting up your HP DeskJet 3755 to connect to a new Wi-Fi network can be done by following these steps:

Reset the Wireless Settings:

  • Turn on the printer.
  • Hold down the Wireless button and the Cancel button on the printer's control panel simultaneously until the power light blinks. This will reset the wireless settings to the factory defaults.

Reconnect to Your Home Network:

  • Ensure that your computer or mobile device is connected to the Wi-Fi network that you want the printer to use.
  • Open the HP Smart app. If you haven't installed it, download it from HP's website.
  • Within the HP Smart app, click on the “Setup a New Printer” option. It will guide you through connecting the printer to your new network.

Install the Printer Driver:

  • Make sure you have the latest printer driver installed on your computer. You can download it from the HP Support page.
  • Follow the installation instructions and select the wireless connection type.

Use the WPS Button (Optional):

  • If your router supports WPS (Wi-Fi Protected Setup), you can use this feature to connect the printer to the network:
    • Press the WPS button on your router.
    • Within two minutes, press and hold the Wireless button on the printer until it starts blinking. The printer should connect automatically.

Check for Firmware or Software Updates:

  • Open the HP Smart app and check for any updates for your printer model to ensure you're running the latest version

I hope this helps.

Please feel free to reply here if you have any questions or if you need further clarification on any of the steps.

Take care and have a good day.

Thanks for your reply. I've now spent nearly three hours trying to get this printer to connect to the wifi. I have Starlink, which in my version does not have WPS, and I don't have an ethernet port on the router. I am at a loss to know what to do.

Hi @Clint63

We sincerely thank you for your patience and co-operation during this troubleshooting process.

My sincere apologies for the inconvenience caused to you. We'd hate for you to be stuck in a situation like this. Because you matter to us.

Let us try to restore the printer to the default network settings, and then use HP Smart to connect the printer to your Wi-Fi network.

Step 1:

Restore network default settings on the printer, to do that - Press and hold the Wireless  and Cancel  buttons until the Power button flashes, and then wait for the Wireless light to flash.

Step 2:

Uninstall and re-install the HP Smart app on your computer/mobile device.

Place the printer and the computer or mobile device near the Wi-Fi router.

Turn on Wi-Fi on your computer or mobile device and connect to your network. If the computer is connected to the network with an Ethernet cable, temporarily disconnect the cable and use the Wi-Fi connection during the setup.

Enable Bluetooth on the computer or mobile device so that HP Smart can detect the printer during the setup.

After installing HP Smart for iOS and Android, enable the mobile device location service and allow the app to use your location to detect the printer and offer solutions during setup.

Download the HP Smart app from 123.hp.com (Android, Apple iOS, iPadOS).

In HP Smart, click Add Printer or the plus sign to search for the printer, and then follow the instructions to complete the setup.

Let me know if this helps.

Also make sure you are trying to connect to the 2.4GHz network, because your printer model does not support the 5GHz network.

If you are not sure of this, please check with your ISP (Internet Service Provider).

If my response helped, please mark it as an Accepted Solution It helps others and spreads support. 💙 Also, tapping "Yes" on "Was this reply helpful?" makes a big difference! Thanks! 😊

Take care, and have an amazing day!
