Hi @Jojothegreat,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

I understand that your HP DeskJet 3640 series is not connecting to your Wi-Fi even though you are entering the correct Wi-Fi credentials.

Please provide these details:

  • Are you using a 2.4 GHz or 5 GHz Wi-Fi network?
  • Is the printer's wireless light blinking, solid, or off?
  • Does HP Smart detect the printer?
  • Do you receive any specific error message?
  • Are you setting it up from Windows, Mac, Android, or iPhone/iPad?

Meanwhile, please try the following:

Restart the printer and router

  • Turn off the printer.
  • Unplug the router for about 60 seconds, then reconnect it and wait until the Wi-Fi is fully operational.
  • Turn the printer back on.

Put the printer into Wi-Fi setup mode

  • Press and hold the Wireless and Cancel buttons together for about 3–5 seconds.
  • Release them when the wireless light starts blinking.

Set up the connection again

  • Open the HP Smart app on your phone or computer.
  • Select Add Printer and follow the prompts to connect it to your Wi-Fi.
  • Make sure the device running HP Smart is connected to the Wi-Fi network you want the printer to use.

Let me know how it goes.

Best regards,
Kuroi_Kenshi
