Hi @redsox50,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out!

It is frustrating when your Acer computer and HP OfficeJet Pro 9010 refuse to talk to each other, Let try a few checks.

  1. Check for Multiple Printer Icons
    • Open the Control Panel on your Acer and go to Devices and Printers.
    • Look for any duplicate icons for the "HP OfficeJet Pro 9010" (some may say "Copy 1" or "Class Driver").
    • Right-click and Remove Device for all versions of this printer shown in the list.
    • Restart your computer to clear the print spooler's temporary memory.
  2. Assign a Manual Port Connection
    • Go back to Devices and Printers, click Add a printer, and select your 9010 from the list.
    • If it still won't print, right-click the printer icon and select Printer Properties, then the Ports tab.
    • Click Add Port, select Standard TCP/IP Port, and click New Port.
    • Enter the IP address of your printer (you can find this by tapping the Wireless icon on the printer's touchscreen) to create a direct permanent link.
  3. Verify Firewall and Network Profile
    • On your Acer, go to Settings > Network & Internet > Status.
    • Ensure your Network Profile is set to Private; if it is set to "Public," Windows will block communication with printers for security.
    • Temporarily disable any third-party antivirus firewalls (like McAfee or Norton) to see if they are intercepting the print signal.
    • Re-run the HP Smart app to "Add Printer" once the network is set to Private.

For advanced connectivity fixes, refer to the HP official guide for printer offline or communication errors.

When you tap the Wireless icon on your printer's screen, does it show a valid IP address like 192.168.1.XX?

I hope this helps.

Take care and have an amazing day ahead! 🚀

Best regards,
