Hi @Diann86,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

Sure! Here’s a clear and simple guide to help you set up (hook up) your HP Smart Tank printer. These steps apply to models like the Smart Tank 500/600/700/7000/580/720 and similar.

1. Unbox and Prepare

  • Remove all packaging materials from the printer.
  • Check that the ink tanks are filled (or fill them using the provided bottles).
  • Install the printheads as per the quick-start guide.

2. Power On

  • Plug the printer into a power outlet.
  • Press the Power button and wait for the printer to initialize.

3. Connect to Wi-Fi

  • On the printer control panel:
    • Go to Wireless SettingsSetup Wizard.
    • Select your Wi-Fi network and enter the password.
  • Ensure the printer shows a solid blue wireless light (connected).

4. Install HP App

5. Print a Test Page

  • From HP Smart, select Print Documents or Print Test Page to confirm everything works.

6. Optional: Enable Web Services

  • For features like HP ePrint or Instant Ink, enable Web Services in the printer settings.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have an amazing day!
