Hi @2oldmen,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

I understand your HP printer is displaying a message indicating that it needs to be connected to the internet and is not printing. You can follow these steps to reconnect it via Wi-Fi or Ethernet:

Check Internet Connection:

  • Ensure your internet connection is working properly on other devices. You can verify this by accessing a website or online service on a computer or smartphone connected to the same network.

Connect via Wi-Fi:

  • Ensure Wi-Fi is Enabled: Make sure the Wi-Fi setting on your printer is turned on and the printer is within the range of your wireless router.

  • Use HP App Setup: Go to HP App – For HP Printers, Laptops, and Tech Accessories | HP® Official Site on a computer or smartphone.

Download and install the HP Easy Start software, then follow the instructions to add your printer to the network.

  • Re-add Printer: After adding the printer to your network, choose to install a basic driver and proceed with the setup process.

Connect via Ethernet:

  • Ethernet Connection Setup: Connect an Ethernet cable from the printer to the network (router or switch) your computer is connected to. Ensure both endpoints are securely plugged in.

  • Confirm Ready Status: On the printer's control panel, press "OK" to confirm the IP address, and then press "OK" again until the printer displays “Ready.”

Check for Internet Requirements:

  • Printers enrolled in HP Instant Ink require an active internet connection for certain web services to function properly.

    I hope this helps.

Take care and have an amazing day!
