Hi @carrie115, Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
To turn on the wireless radio on your HP OfficeJet Pro 8020 series printer, follow these steps:

Method 1: Using the Printer Control Panel

  1. Wake up the printer (if it’s in sleep mode) by tapping the touchscreen.
  2. Tap the Wireless icon 📶 or navigate to Network Setup.
  3. Select Wireless Settings.
  4. Make sure Wireless is turned On.
  5. If the Wireless radio is off, turn it On.

Method 2: Using the Embedded Web Server (EWS)

  1. Make sure your printer and computer are connected to the same network.
  2. Find your printer’s IP address:
    • Tap the Wireless icon 📶 on the printer’s control panel.
    • Note down the IP address displayed.
  3. Open a web browser on your computer and enter the IP address in the address bar.
  4. Go to Network > Wireless (802.11).
  5. Enable Wireless radio if it is turned off.

Method 3: Using HP Smart App

  1. Open the HP Smart app on your PC or mobile device.
  2. Select your printer.
  3. Go to Printer Settings > Advanced Settings (EWS).
  4. Navigate to Network > Wireless (802.11).
  5. Turn on Wireless radio if it’s disabled.

After turning on the wireless radio, try reconnecting your printer to Wi-Fi if needed.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
