Hi @carrie115, Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
To turn on the wireless radio on your HP OfficeJet Pro 8020 series printer, follow these steps:
Method 1: Using the Printer Control Panel
- Wake up the printer (if it’s in sleep mode) by tapping the touchscreen.
- Tap the Wireless icon 📶 or navigate to Network Setup.
- Select Wireless Settings.
- Make sure Wireless is turned On.
- If the Wireless radio is off, turn it On.
Method 2: Using the Embedded Web Server (EWS)
- Make sure your printer and computer are connected to the same network.
- Find your printer’s IP address:
- Tap the Wireless icon 📶 on the printer’s control panel.
- Note down the IP address displayed.
- Open a web browser on your computer and enter the IP address in the address bar.
- Go to Network > Wireless (802.11).
- Enable Wireless radio if it is turned off.
Method 3: Using HP Smart App
- Open the HP Smart app on your PC or mobile device.
- Select your printer.
- Go to Printer Settings > Advanced Settings (EWS).
- Navigate to Network > Wireless (802.11).
- Turn on Wireless radio if it’s disabled.
After turning on the wireless radio, try reconnecting your printer to Wi-Fi if needed.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
