how do you access the Network or Wireless settings on HP LaserJet Tank MFP 260. Had to do factory reset on Starlink wifi. Now the printer HP laser Jet Tank MFP 2604sdw printer is doing a wifi direct connect. Which makes it a different network that my laptop uses?

Since your HP LaserJet Tank MFP 2604sdw is currently using Wi-Fi Direct instead of connecting to your Starlink network, you'll need to manually adjust the wireless settings. Here’s how to do it:
Step 1: Access the Printer’s Wireless Settings
- On the printer’s control panel, navigate to Setup → Network Setup.
- Select Wireless Settings and look for Wi-Fi Setup Wizard.
- Choose your Starlink Wi-Fi network from the list.
- Enter your Wi-Fi password and confirm the connection.
Step 2: Disable Wi-Fi Direct (If Needed)
- Go to Setup → Network Setup → Wi-Fi Direct.
- If Wi-Fi Direct is enabled, turn it off to prevent interference.
Step 3: Restart Printer & Laptop
- Turn off the printer and unplug it for 30 seconds.
- Restart your laptop to refresh network settings.
- Turn the printer back on and check if it connects properly.
Step 4: Use HP Smart for Setup
- Open the HP Smart app on your laptop.
- Select Add Printer and follow the on-screen instructions.
- Ensure the printer is connected to the same Wi-Fi network as your laptop.

How do I even get to the set up?? We changed modems and it’s been a nightmare. I have a control panel with a window that is about 2 inches by 1 inch. Someone please explain how to even get to the set up page? This is not a user friendly printer. Bought because it’s wireless printing but if it is this difficult to reset what is the use - frustrated! Thank you in advance!

Hi @Thekel312

I hear you—printer setup can be frustrating, especially when the interface isn't intuitive. Since you've changed modems, you'll need to reconnect your HP LaserJet Tank MFP 2604sdw to the new network.
Here's how to access the wireless settings:
Use the Control Panel: Even though the display is small, you should be able to navigate to the Wireless Setup Wizard.
- Press the Wireless button on the printer.
- Select Setup or Network Settings.
- Choose Wireless Setup Wizard and follow the prompts to connect to your new modem.
HP Smart App Method (Recommended for easier setup):
- Download and install the HP Smart app on your computer or mobile device.
- Open the app and select Set up a new printer.
- Follow the on-screen instructions to connect the printer to your Wi-Fi.
Embedded Web Server (EWS):
- If your printer is already connected to a network but needs reconfiguration, you can access its settings via a web browser.
- Find the printer’s IP address (print a network configuration page from the printer).
- Enter the IP address in a browser to access the printer’s settings.
I know HP’s Dynamic Security and setup processes can be frustrating, but once connected, it should work smoothly.
