Hi @iblahaun1,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
The error message you received about your HP Envy 5530 e-All-in-One printer being unable to connect to your wireless router due to MAC address filtering is indicating that your router is set up to allow only specific devices (MAC addresses) to connect to it. To resolve this issue and allow your printer to connect to the wireless network, you'll need to add the MAC address of your printer to the list of permitted devices on your router. Here are the general steps to do this.
-
Find the MAC address of your HP Envy 5530 printer: a. On the printer's control panel, navigate to the wireless or network settings. b. Look for an option that displays the printer's MAC address. It may be labeled as "Wireless MAC Address" or something similar. Note down this address.
-
Log in to your wireless router's web interface: a. Open a web browser (e.g., Chrome, Firefox) on a device that is already connected to your wireless network. b. In the address bar, enter the IP address of your router. The default IP address for most routers is 192.168.1.1 or 192.168.0.1. You may need to consult your router's manual or manufacturer's website for the specific IP address.
-
Enter your router's login credentials: a. You will be prompted to enter a username and password to access the router's settings. If you haven't changed these from the default, consult your router's manual for the default login information. b. If you've changed the login credentials and can't remember them, you may need to perform a factory reset on the router to restore the default settings.
-
Add the MAC address to the allowed devices list: a. Once you've logged into the router's web interface, look for a section related to MAC address filtering, device access control, or something similar. b. Within this section, there should be an option to add a new device or MAC address to the allowed list. c. Enter the MAC address of your HP Envy 5530 printer that you noted earlier. d. Save or apply the changes.
-
Restart your printer: a. Power cycle your printer by turning it off and then back on.
-
Test the connection: a. After making these changes, try connecting your HP Envy 5530 to your wireless network again. b. Verify that it can now successfully connect.
Your printer should now be able to connect to your wireless network since its MAC address is added to the list of permitted devices on your router.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
