Hi @CSummers,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If your HP OfficeJet 8015e is displaying a QR code but not showing a blinking blue light, it indicates that the printer is not in the Wi-Fi setup mode. Here are some steps you can follow to resolve the issue.

Steps to Connect Your HP OfficeJet 8015e to Wi-Fi

Check Printer Power:

  • Ensure that the printer is turned on and connected to a power source.

Reset Network Settings:

  • Go to the printer’s control panel.
  • Navigate to Settings > Network > Restore Network Defaults. This will reset any existing network settings.

Enable Wi-Fi Direct:

  • Still in the Network settings, make sure that Wi-Fi Direct is enabled. This sometimes helps the printer get into the right mode for connecting to Wi-Fi.

Use HP Smart App:

  • Download and install the HP Smart App on your computer or mobile device.
  • Open the app and add your printer. If it’s in the right mode, the app should find it.
  • Follow the prompts to connect the printer to your Wi-Fi network. You might need to enter your Wi-Fi credentials.

Wi-Fi Protected Setup (WPS):

  • If your router supports WPS, you can use this method:
    • Press the WPS button on your router.
    • On the printer's control panel, navigate to Network > Wireless Settings > Wi-Fi Protected Setup and select WPS.

Check for Firmware Updates:

  • Ensure your printer's firmware is up to date by checking in the HP Smart App or the printer's settings.

Check for Printer Connection:

  • If the blue light is still not blinking or steady, try a power cycle:
    • Turn off the printer, unplug it for a minute, then plug it back in and turn it on.

After completing these steps, check if the blue light is blinking. This indicates that the printer is in Wi-Fi setup mode and ready to connect to your network.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
