HP ENVY Photo 6230 All-in-One Printer

hpdoctor.jpgHP SMART shows the printer as being connected but will not print from the app - Running diagnostics reports no problems.

Windows shows the printer as 'offline' and no printing vie wifi is possible.

Have tried resetting the wireless connection on the Printer.  HP doctor reports issues found and fixed but test page does not print.

The printer does work when connected via USB from windows.

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

Please follow the steps listed below to restore the printer to its network defaults and then reconnect it to the network.

Step 1: Restore the printer to its network defaults.
1. From the Home screen, touch (Wireless) and then touch ( Settings ).

2. Touch Restore Network Settings, and then follow the onscreen instructions

Step 2: Reconnect the Printer to the network:
1. From the printer control panel display, touch (Wireless).

2. Touch ( Settings ).

3. Touch Wireless Setup Wizard or Wi-Fi Protected Setup.

4. Follow the display instructions to complete the setup.

You may also refer to page 115 and 71 for step 1 and step 2 from this User Guide.

I hope this helps.

Prior to the above reply arriving I managed to follow the troubleshoot guide and add a new port which solved the problem.  A few days later however, at launch I had a security message HP smart application wishes to make changes to your computer.  As these pop up from time to time, I clicked 'allow'.  Yesterday I also had a print notification pop up in windows when no printing had in fact taken place and upon checking this morning, I see the printer is now back in its 'offline' state.

I can only conclude that the HP smart application is reponsible for making the changes which are causing the printer to go offline.

I'll retry the port solution later and if that doesn't work, reset the printer as you suggest and let you know the reults.
