@Regis4, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding your HP LaserJet Pro MFP M28-M31 Printer Offline Issues!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

If your HP LaserJet Pro MFP M28-M31 printer is showing as offline, here are some steps you can follow to troubleshoot and resolve the issue:

1. Check Printer Connection

  • Ensure the printer is properly connected to your computer or network.
  • Ensure all cables are securely plugged in and there are no loose connections.

2. Restart Printer and Computer

  • Turn off your printer and then turn it back on after a few minutes.
  • Restart your computer to refresh the connection.

3. Update Printer Driver

  • Ensure your printer driver is up-to-date by visiting the HP Support page.
  • Download and install the latest printer driver for your model.

4. Set Printer as Default

  • Go to Devices and Printers on your computer.
  • Right-click your printer and select "Set as default printer."

5. Clear Print Queue

  • Open your print queue, cancel any pending print jobs, and then try printing again.

6. Check Printer Status

  • Make sure your printer is not set to "Use Printer Offline". This can be checked in the printer preferences menu.

7. Reconnect to Network

  • If your printer is connected via Wi-Fi, ensure the printer is connected to the correct network.
  • You can reconnect to your network through the printer’s control panel.

Hope this helps!

Take care, and have an amazing day!
