Thanks for sharing your issue with the HP DeskJet 2855e. If your printer isn’t showing up in the HP Smart app during Wi-Fi setup, here are the steps to resolve it:
Fix: HP DeskJet 2855e Not Found During Wi-Fi Setup
1. Restore Wi-Fi Setup Mode
This puts the printer in a discoverable state for 2 hours.
- For printers without a touchscreen:
- Press and hold the Wireless button and the Cancel button together for 5 seconds until the wireless light starts blinking.
2. Check Your Network
- Ensure your phone or PC is connected to your home Wi-Fi (not a guest or public network).
- Do not connect to the printer’s temporary Wi-Fi signal (e.g., DIRECT-xx-HP...).
3. Enable Required Settings
- Wi-Fi: Must be turned on.
- Bluetooth: Required for the HP Smart app to detect the printer.
- Location Services (on mobile): Must be enabled for the app to find nearby printers.
4. Move Devices Closer
- Keep your printer and phone/computer within 8 meters (26 feet) of your router.
5. Restart Everything
- Restart your printer, router, and device to clear any connection issues.
