Hi @davkev99,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
It sounds like your HP Smart Tank Plus 570 is struggling with the transition to your new router, likely due to outdated network settings. Here’s how to fix it.
Remove Old IP Address and Reconnect to New Router
Reset Network Settings on the Printer
- On the printer control panel, press and hold the Wireless button and the Cancel button together for 5 seconds.
- This will restore the network settings to default.
Reconnect to the New Router
- On the printer, press the Wi-Fi button until it starts flashing.
- On your computer or phone, open the HP Smart app.
- Select "Add Printer", then follow the prompts to connect it to the new Wi-Fi network.
Update the IP Address on Your Computer
Once the printer is connected to your new router, you need to ensure your computer is looking at the correct new IP address.
Find the Printer’s New IP Address:
- Print a network configuration page by pressing the Information (i) button on the printer.
- Look for the IPv4 address under Wi-Fi settings.
Update Printer Settings in Windows:
- Open Control Panel > Devices and Printers.
- Right-click on your HP Smart Tank Plus 570 and select Printer Properties.
- Go to the Ports tab, click on Add Port, and select Standard TCP/IP Port.
- Enter the new IP address and save the settings.
Set Static IP (Optional, Prevents Future Issues)
If your printer's IP address keeps changing, set a static IP:
- Open a web browser and type the new IP address of your printer.
- Go to Network > Wireless > IPv4 settings.
- Choose Manual IP and enter the details from your network configuration page.
- Save the settings.

Remove the Old Printer Entry
- In Control Panel > Devices and Printers, if you see two instances of your printer, remove the one that has the old IP by right-clicking and selecting Remove Device.
After these steps, your printer should consistently connect and print without issues.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
