Hi @TMP78,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If your iPad is not finding your HP printer for AirPrint, there are several troubleshooting steps you can take to resolve the issue. Here’s a step-by-step guide to help you get your printer connected:

1. Check Printer and iPad Connections

Ensure Both Devices Are on the Same Network:

  • Your iPad and HP printer must be connected to the same Wi-Fi network. Verify that both are connected to the same network and not a guest network or different band (2.4 GHz vs. 5 GHz).

Restart Devices:

  • Restart both your iPad and your HP printer. Sometimes a simple restart can resolve connectivity issues.

2. Verify Printer Setup

Check Printer’s Network Connection:

  • Ensure that the printer is connected to your Wi-Fi network. You can usually verify this on the printer’s control panel or through its settings menu.

Update Printer Firmware:

  • Make sure your printer’s firmware is up to date. You can usually update this through the HP Smart app or by visiting the HP Support website.

3. Use HP Smart App

Download HP Smart App:

  • Install the HP Smart app from the App Store if you haven’t already.

Set Up Printer in HP Smart App:

  • Open the app and follow the instructions to set up your printer. This can help ensure that the printer is properly configured for network printing.

4. Verify AirPrint Compatibility

Check Printer Model:

  • Ensure that your HP printer model supports AirPrint. Most recent HP printers do, but you can verify by checking the HP AirPrint support page.

Printer Settings:

  • Make sure AirPrint is enabled on your printer. This is usually enabled by default, but you can check this in the printer’s settings menu.

5. Check iPad Settings

Update iOS:

  • Ensure your iPad is running the latest version of iOS. Go to “Settings” > “General” > “Software Update” to check for and install any updates.

Reset Network Settings:

  • If network issues persist, you can reset your iPad’s network settings. Go to “Settings” > “General” > “Reset” > “Reset Network Settings.” Note that this will erase all saved Wi-Fi passwords.

6. Check Network Settings

Router Settings:

  • Restart your Wi-Fi router to refresh the network. Also, ensure that there are no network issues or restrictions preventing communication between devices.

Firewall or Security Settings:

  • Make sure that your router’s firewall or security settings are not blocking communication between your iPad and the printer.

7. Re-add Printer

  1. Reconfigure Printer on iPad:
    • Go to “Settings” > “Wi-Fi” and ensure you are connected to the correct network.
    • Open an app that supports AirPrint (e.g., Safari, Photos) and try to print again by selecting “Share” > “Print” and choose your printer.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
