Common problems for Connectivity Issues
We would like to share some of the most frequently asked questions about Printer Wi-Fi, Connectivity Issues and Offline Status. Check out this link: HP printer is offline or unavailable.

Whenever I try to print wireless or connected with Ethernet cable, I always get a message “printer not found.”   It is HP ENVY PHOTO 7858 and is about 5 years old.   It worked flawlessly until I stopped using the $.99 monthly ink subscription.    Once I removed the ink, the diagnostic says “wireless disabled.”   Can anyone tell me how to enable it?

Hi @Karen005,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out!

I understand that your HP ENVY Photo 7858 printer is no longer being detected by your iPhone over wireless or Ethernet, even though it used to work flawlessly. You mentioned the problem began after canceling the Instant Ink subscription, and now the diagnostics show “wireless disabled.” Let’s go through some steps to re-enable the wireless connection:

Verify Wireless Settings on the Printer

On the printer’s control panel, go to Setup → Network Setup → Wireless Settings.

Make sure Wireless is turned ON.

Run Wireless Setup Wizard

From Wireless Settings → Wireless Setup Wizard, reconnect your printer to your Wi-Fi network.

Enter your Wi-Fi password carefully.

Once connected, you should see a solid blue wireless light.

Restart Devices

Restart your printer, iPhone, and router.

After restarting, confirm all devices are on the same Wi-Fi network (2.4 GHz is recommended).

Forget & Re-add the Printer on iPhone

On your iPhone, go to Settings → Bluetooth & Wi-Fi. Forget the printer if listed.

Then try adding the printer again via AirPrint or the HP Smart app.

Check for Firmware Updates

On the printer’s control panel, go to Setup → Printer Maintenance → Update Printer.

Install any available updates, as they can restore connectivity features.

Ethernet Connection (Optional)

If using Ethernet, ensure the cable is securely connected.

Print a Network Configuration Page from the printer to check if it has a valid IP address.

On your iPhone, use the HP Smart app and add the printer manually using the IP address.

I hope this helps.
