Hi @kc5277
Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for reaching out!
I understand that the wireless connection on your HP OfficeJet Pro 8135 All-in-One Printer drops and only reconnects after you unplug and reconnect the printer. I’ll be glad to help you with this.
Kindly confirm a few details:
- Does the Wi‑Fi disconnect after the printer has been idle or does it happen randomly while in use?
- When it disconnects, does the printer still show that it is connected to your Wi‑Fi network?
- Have you recently changed your router, Wi‑Fi password, or network settings?
- Is the printer firmware up to date?
Kindly try these steps:
- Restart the printer, router, and Windows 11 computer.
- Make sure the printer and computer are connected to the same Wi‑Fi network.
- Move the printer closer to the router temporarily and check whether the connection remains stable.
- From the printer, print a Wireless Network Test report and check the wireless signal strength.
- If the issue continues, restore the printer's Wi‑Fi/network settings and reconnect it using the HP app.
HP recommends restarting the network devices, checking wireless signal strength, reconnecting to the same SSID, and restoring Wi‑Fi setup mode when wireless connectivity is lost.
Kindly refer to this HP document for detailed troubleshooting: Troubleshoot a Wi‑Fi connection to an HP printer .
Since power cycling temporarily restores the connection, it indicates that the printer is able to connect to the network but is not maintaining the wireless connection consistently. Checking the network signal, firmware, and Wi‑Fi configuration can help isolate whether the connection is being interrupted by the printer's network state or the wireless environment.
I hope this helps.
