@personalacount,

Welcome to our HP Community forum!

You can actually locate the IP address of your HP DeskJet 2820e printer in a few different ways:

  1. From the HP Smart app:

    • Open the HP Smart app on your PC or phone.

    • Select your printer → click Printer Information or Network Information.

    • The IP Address will be shown there.

  2. From the printer directly:

    • On the printer's control panel, press and hold the Information ("i") button until a Network Configuration Page prints.

    • Look for the IPv4 Address entry -that's your printer’s current IP address.

  3. From your router:

    • Log into your Wi-Fi router's admin page and check the list of connected devices.

    • You'll see your printer listed as HP DeskJet 2800 series with its IP address next to it.

Please Note: If the printer is connected via USB only, it won't have an IP address -you'll need to connect it to Wi-Fi first through HP SmartAdd PrinterWireless Setup.

Kind Regards,
