lock printer using mac

I’m on a shared wifi with everyone in my apartment building. Is there a way that I can either 1) lock my printer so only my computer can print to it or 2) create a passcode that has to be typed in to print?

I'd like to help!

I understand you are trying to lock the printer from others using it.

Unfortunately, that is not possible.

You can just turn the printer off when not using it so no one can access it.
