I have an m404dn that came up with the error:
0XD81B0420
ERROR CODE
sx kernel_exec
on the LCD. I disabled the IP6 as stated in another thread, I also updated the firmware. After about 3 minutes the error keeps reappearing, and the only solution is to reboot which gives me another 3 minutes to print.
Any solutions?
Update: just found second printer (M428fdw) with same error and same scenario after restart. Too coincidental 2 different printers on same day, same error

Hello Buck585,
Sometimes those errors could be related to the network environment: could be that a server, some firewall, even some computer is broadcasting a piece of network information that when the printer receives it, it does not know how to process it and then errors out. Also, if the error only happens when printing, the problem could be caused either by the driver on that specific computer or the way that computer transmits the job to the injected into the printer.
To have a better idea, you can do a power drain on those printers and leave them completely isolated: unplug USB, network and disconnect the M428fdw from wifi if applicable. Once they are on and isolated, you can print several internal reports on both and making copies in the M428.
If problem does not happen, then you have a better idea the problem could be network related. After that, you can test even further and connect those printers via USB and test them that way for a couple of days.
If problem is not present, that will be more confirmation the issue is caused by something on your network.
If problem persists, and if your printers are still under warranty, we recommend to call tech support for further investigation. If they are out of warranty, we recommend to take them to a Certified Service Center nearby for inspection.
