Hi @bshop,

Welcome to the HP Support Community

I'd like to help!

To assist better -

  1. Are you trying to connect your printer to your home or public network?
  2. What is the status of the wireless light on the printer, steady or blinking?
  3.  I would like to know, is your router set to work on a 2.4 GHz network or a 5 GHz network band?

The wifi password is case sensitive, make sure to type the password as is.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted.

Hi, I appreciate you trying to help.  This has been frustrating.

1. I'm trying to connect to my home network

2. The blue wireless light on the printer is blinking

3. Not sure on 2.4 or 5.  How can I check that?

I've typed in the correct password close to 25 times or more and I get an incorrect passphrase message.  The printer is the only device that won't accept the password.

Much appreciated!

The information will be on the router itself .

Try the below suggestions -

 Reset the product

  • With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer.
  • Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.
  • Wait at least 60 seconds.
  • Plug the power cord back into the wall outlet.
  • Reconnect the power cord to the printer.
  • Turn the printer on. HP recommends plugging the printer directly into a wall outlet.

Also, try updating the printer's firmware -HP Printers - Updating or Upgrading Printer Firmware

If the is issue persists, We can perform a factory default on the printer to resolve the issue

  • The reset instructions are specific for your printer and performing those steps on a different printer may corrupt the device.
  • I've sent you a private message with reset instructions, follow the reset instruction to perform a full reset and re-initialize the printer.
