@steveTerp, Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If your HP OfficeJet 6962 printer's Wi-Fi connection has stopped working, here are some steps to help you restore wireless connectivity:

Restart Devices

  • Power off your printer, router, and computer/mobile device.
  • Wait 30 seconds, then power them back on.
  • This refreshes network settings and clears temporary glitches.

Check Wi-Fi Signal

  • Ensure your printer is within range of the Wi-Fi router.
  • Avoid placing it near metal objects or microwaves that may interfere with signal.

Reconnect the Printer to Wi-Fi

Use the printer’s control panel:

  • Tap Wireless icon or go to Settings > Network Setup > Wireless Settings.
  • Select Wireless Setup Wizard.
  • Choose your Wi-Fi network and enter the password.

Assign a Static IP (Optional)

Sometimes assigning a static IP helps maintain a stable connection:

  • Access your printer’s IP address via the control panel.
  • Log into your router and assign that IP as static.
  • You can also set it manually via Settings > Network Setup > Advanced Settings > IP Settings.

Update Printer Firmware

Outdated firmware can cause connectivity issues:

Still Not Working?

Try a network reset:

  • On the printer, go to Settings > Network Settings > Restore Network Defaults.
  • Reconnect using the Wireless Setup Wizard again.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
