Hi @martin069

Thank you for your reply, I will be glad to help you.

I understand you are trying to connect your HP DeskJet 3700 All-in-One Printer to a network, follow these steps:

Step 1: Gather the Necessary Information

Before starting, make sure you have:

  1. The SSID (name) of your wireless network.
  2. The network password (network key or WPA/WEP key).

Step 2: Connect the Printer to the Wireless Network

You can connect your printer to the network using either the HP Smart app or the WPS (Wi-Fi Protected Setup) method.

Using the HP Smart App:

Download and Install HP Smart:

Connect the Printer to the Network:

  • Open the HP Smart app.
  • Turn on your printer and make sure it’s in a ready state.
  • In the app, click on the “+” sign to add a new printer.
  • Follow the on-screen instructions to connect the printer to your Wi-Fi network. The app will prompt you to select your network and enter the network password (network key).

Using WPS (Wi-Fi Protected Setup):

Initiate WPS Mode on Your Printer:

  • Press the Wireless button on the printer until the light starts blinking. This puts the printer into WPS mode.

Press the WPS Button on Your Router:

  • Within 2 minutes, press the WPS button on your router. The printer will connect to your wireless network automatically.

Step 3: Complete the Setup

Install Printer Software:

  • If you haven’t already, download and install the printer software from the Software and Drivers for

HP DeskJet 3700 All-in-One Printer series Software and Drivers for HP DeskJet 3700 All-in-One Printer series.

  • Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the installation.

Print a Test Page:

  • Print a test page to ensure the printer is connected to the network and functioning correctly.

Troubleshooting Tips

  • Ensure the Printer is Close to the Router: Keep your printer within a reasonable range of your router to ensure a strong signal.
  • Restart Devices: Restart your printer, router, and computer if you encounter any issues.
  • Check Network Settings: Make sure your network settings are correct and that you’re using the right network key.

If your laptop is asking for a network key when connecting the printer, it means you need to enter your Wi-Fi network password. This is typically found on the router itself or provided by your internet service provider.

Refer to this document: HP DeskJet 3700 All-in-One Printer series User manual

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
