Trying to print to HP14DCC89 (Officejet Pro 8130e - a printer owned by the employer but located in my home) while connected to Express VPN with split tunneling enabled. I have exempted HPCOPPHOST and HPCOPPWVC and this allowed me to print to my old HP Officejet Pro 8610 while connected to the VPN but not, apparently, to the 8130e. What and where are the exe files or processes that I need to exempt from the VPN? I see in the conversations where someone was asking about this issue and a private message was sent to them to fix the problem. Why would this solution not be shared? HP seems very secretive about this.

@JonathanH4, Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding printer connection!
We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.
When attempting to print over a network while connected to a VPN, issues can occur because most VPNs do not permit access to local network devices. Here are some steps you can try to resolve the issue with your HP Officejet Pro 8130e printer:
Check VPN Settings: Ensure that your VPN settings, particularly split tunneling, are configured correctly. Since you were able to print to your other printer, verify that similar settings are applied to the Officejet Pro 8130e.
Exempt Specific EXE Files: While the specific EXE files for your Officejet Pro 8130e may not be documented, a general approach would be to exempt your printer's executable files similar to other HP utilities that are needed for network printing. Commonly, the HP print service may use executables located in the HP program files, such as HPNetworkCommunicator.exe or HPScan.exe, which should be exempted in the VPN to allow proper communication.
Printer Drivers and Software: Make sure that the latest drivers are installed for your printer, as older drivers might not support proper network functionality under VPN conditions.
Try Direct Connection: If none of the above methods work, consider temporarily disconnecting from the VPN when printing, or alternatively, connecting the printer directly to your computer via USB.
Hope this helps!
Take care, and have an amazing day!
