Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

My HP 4650 is not printing from the computer. It will copy and scan. HP print and scan Dr. and windows trouble shooters can not find the problem. The driver and other software are reported as up-to-date. The blue wireless  connector light shows steadily on front of printer, but there seems to be no connection. Restarts of printer and computer don't help.

Was able to print test page by using HP Smart app. Printer still will not print from other programs on the computer.

Hi@joneu,

Welcome to the HP Support Community! I'd like to help!

I see you are experiencing issues with the HP Laptop screen is getting blurry and the text/images are blurred.

If the printer is making good copies and assuming you are using Windows OS, let’s first try to fix this issue using HP Print and Scan Doctor (PSDR). PSDR is an automated tool which can diagnose and resolve printing and scanning problems. Once you open the program, select your printer and click on “Fix Printing” to automatically diagnose and fix the issue.

If the issue persists, then I’d suggest you perform a clean install to try and fix the issue:

  • First, unplug the USB cable from the printer, if present.
  • Go to Control panel – Programs and feature – Select all the HP Officejet printer entries and uninstall them.
  • Now go to Control panel – Devices and printer – Select all the printer entries and remove the device.
  • Press the "windows key" + "r" to get the "Run" window open - Type "printui.exe /s" (There is a space between .exe & /) and press enter.
  • Under print server properties, go to drivers - remove any entry there as well.
  • Again, go to the Run window, type – “c:/programdata” – Go to Hewlett Packard folder, remove any printer related folders & files.
  • Restart your computer.
  • Now click http://hp.care/2rZvlX1  to download and install the software.
  • Connect the USB cable if prompted and follow the on-screen instructions to complete the installation.

Make sure your devices are properly connected with each other, and the network or the cable you use to connect these devices is normal. You can also try restarting your HP printer. Turn it off completely and unplug the power cord, leave it for a couple of minutes, and then plug the cord back and power on the printer.

If issue still persist then if you would like to restore the printer to its factory settings.

On the printer control panel, go to Setup > Tools > Restore factory defaults.

This will clear all the settings on the printer.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted.

Thanks for your reply. Sorry that I did not get back to you sooner as I was traveling and did not have access to this printer and computer. These steps have not been successful. I just reset printer to factory defaults and reconnected to the network, but the problem persists. Something in the rollback from Win 11 to Win 10 has interfered with the ability to print. Troubleshooters and PSDR have not been able to detect the problem. This is poor execution on the part of Windows as they stated if "you don't like Win 11, you can rollback to the way things were" (or words to that effect). Window's help and support pages I saw a few weeks ago were not addressing this problem. I saw one possible solution somewhere online of re-installing Win 10. I may do this, but am wary of having more problems as a result
