Common problems for Connectivity Issues
We would like to share some of the most frequently asked questions about Printer Wi-Fi, Connectivity Issues and Offline Status. Check out this link: HP printer is offline or unavailable.

Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I can't print from my win 10 laptop to hp envy 7640 over wifi. Windows says printer is ready. Print and scan doctor says everything is fine and it will print the printer diagnostic page, but no documents from the laptop. I print just fine from my Samsung phone and ipad. This is very frustrating. The printer is connected to a desktop computer with a usb cable

Don't worry as I'll be glad to help,

Let's try these steps to resolve the issue:

Root level uninstall and reinstall printer drivers

  • Go to Control panel – Programs and feature – Select all the HP ENVY printer entries and uninstall them.
  • Now go to Control panel – Devices and printer – Select all the printer entries and remove the device.
  • Then press the "windows key" + "r" to get the "Run" window open - Type "printui.exe /s" and press enter.
  • Under print server properties, go to drivers - remove any entry there as well.
  • Again, go to run window, type – “c:/programdata” – Go to Hewlett Packard folder, remove any printer related folders & files.

To reinstall, click here.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance.

Thanks for your response. I had replied via email and I don’t think that works. Anyway, I tried your solution over the weekend, but I still can’t print a document. The hp app ill send a command to print an internal test page, but nothing else. It isn’t actually necessary for m to print from my laptop, I can print from the desktop and I rarly print anyway. I can print from my android phone and ipad too. Basically, this is just a puzzle, WHY the heck can’t I print from the laptop. I am wondering if the failure is because the desktop is hardwired via usb. I haven’t tried disconnecting that and have everything do wifi. Anyway, thanks echo_lake. Any further help s appreciated, but not necessary. GregO2

Don't worry as I'll be glad to help, to provide an accurate resolution, I need a few more details:

You can print the wireless test report for information about the printer wireless connection. The wireless test report provides information about the printer status, hardware (MAC) address, and IP address. If the printer is connected to a network, the test report displays details about the network settings.

Keep me posted for further assistance.

I don’t think an update has caused he printing issue. It never worked from the laptop. The OS is Windows 10 home. 21H2 and theproduct number for the Envy 7645 is E4W44A. To reiterate, windows on the laptop says the printer is ready and the print and scan doctor says it is ready too

Don't worry as I'll be glad to help, to provide an accurate resolution, I need a few more details:

  • Did you make any changes to your printer?

  • What's the Wi-Fi light status on the Printer(Blinking or Steady)?

  • Are you able to print from other devices?

  • Are the printer and computer connected to the same wireless network?

  • What is the product number of your device? Use this link to find it: http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c03754824

Keep me posted for further assistance.
