HP LaserJet Pro P1102w Printer

Unable to install driver for Laserjet P1102W on MAC running MacOS 12.2.1.  I receive a msg that I need 12.0 or earlier. Is a later version of the driver available? This one is dated 10/27/21.

Thank you for posting on the HP Support Community.

Don't worry as I'll be glad to help,
I appreciate your efforts to try and resolve the issue. After reading your post, I did go through the Software and driver page and found out drivers are not available for this macOS 12.2.1 Monterey yet.

However, you can try this recommended solution for this printer is HP Smart: Which is available in the macOS App store and HP Easy Scan

Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance.

Thank you for your suggestion @EchoLake. I tried using HP Smart and the utility is unable to detect the printer. The blue wifi light blinks continuously.  I printed the configuration page and it indicates that the wireless status = disabled. I also tried to restore the wifi settings using directions from the user manual. This was also not successful because the printer did not turn on while depressing the wifi, cancel and power buttons simultaneously.

Still stumped!

Thank you for posting back.

Let's try this:

Try these troubleshooting tips if the Mac does not add or list the printer.

  • Check the printer connection: Check the Wireless or Settings menu on the printer control panel or print a Network Configuration Page, and then make sure the printer is connected to the Wi-Fi network.

  • Check the computer connection: On your Mac, click the Network icon , and then make sure the Mac is connected to the Wi-Fi network.

  • Check for software updates: Open the Apple menu , click System Preferences, and then click Software Update to ensure the computer can download the latest printer software.

  • Update the printer firmware: Go to HP Software and Driver Downloads to search for and download firmware updates for your printer.

  • Restart the router, printer, and Mac: Unplug the router, turn off the printer, and then close all programs on the Mac and shut it down. Turn on the router, wait for a successful internet connection, turn on the printer, and then turn on the Mac.

  • Reset the printing system: Open the Apple menu , click System Preferences, and then click Print & Scan or Printers & Scanners. Right-click or Ctrl + click anywhere in the Printers list, and then click Reset printing system. Restart the printer, and then click the plus icon (+) to re-add it to the list.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance.

Thanks for the list of troubleshooting tips. I am unable to complete your 4th bullet point. As I indicated in my initial post I am unable to install the driver. The error msg says that I need to be MacOS 12.0 or earlier. I am currently running 12.3.
