Hi  @speedy37

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out!

I understand that your HP Smart Tank 7602 All-in-One Printer is displaying "VERIFY" mode and that you've already worked through the available guidance . I appreciate that you've likely already covered many of the standard troubleshooting steps.

To better understand the situation, could you kindly confirm the below details :

  • Is the printer displaying "VERIFY" directly on the control panel screen or within the HP application?
  • Are you able to access the printer's Home screen and menus normally?
  • Does the printer still print, scan, or copy, or has all functionality stopped?

In the meantime, kindly try the below steps and confirm :

  1. Turn the printer off and disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer and the wall outlet.
  2. Wait 60 seconds, then reconnect the power cord directly to a wall outlet and turn the printer on.
  3. If the printer reaches the Home screen, check whether any pending firmware update is available:
    • Tap Setup -Printer Maintenance -Update Printer.
  4. If the control panel is responsive, restore the printer's network settings:
    • Go to Setup -Network Setup -Restore Network Settings.
    • Reconnect the printer using the HP app.
  5. If the issue began after a firmware update attempt, kindly note whether any error codes accompany the VERIFY message.

Based on your description, the VERIFY message can indicate that the printer is attempting to validate an internal configuration, firmware component, or startup process before becoming fully operational.

I hope this helps.
