Hi @tford1223,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

When you encounter an issue where your HP OfficeJet Pro 9015 printer was working fine but suddenly starts showing an error state and not printing, there are several steps you can take to troubleshoot and resolve the problem. Here are some steps to try.

  • Check for Paper Jams: Make sure there are no paper jams or obstructions inside the printer. Even a small piece of paper can cause printing issues.
  • Restart Printer: Turn off the printer, unplug it from the power source, wait for about 30 seconds, and then plug it back in and turn it on. This can often reset the printer and clear minor glitches.
  • Restart Computer: Sometimes, issues can be related to the computer's communication with the printer. Restart your computer to ensure that there are no software-related issues causing the problem.
  • Check Ink or Toner Levels: Ensure that your printer has sufficient ink or toner to complete the print job. Low ink levels can sometimes cause printing problems.
  • Update Printer Drivers: Outdated or corrupted printer drivers can lead to communication issues. Visit the official HP website and download the latest drivers for your printer model. Install them and then try printing again.
  • Check Connectivity: Verify that the printer is properly connected to your network or computer. If you're using a wireless connection, make sure the printer is connected to the correct network.
  • Clear Print Queue: Sometimes, a stuck print job in the print queue can cause subsequent jobs to fail. Clear the print queue and try printing again.
  • Run Print Troubleshooter: Many operating systems offer built-in troubleshooters for printers. Use your computer's print troubleshooter to identify and potentially resolve the issue.
  • Check for Firmware Updates: HP periodically releases firmware updates for their printers to improve functionality and fix bugs. Check if there's a firmware update available for your printer model.
  • Factory Reset: If none of the above steps work, you might consider performing a factory reset on the printer. Be aware that this will reset all settings to their default values, so make sure you have any necessary configuration information before proceeding.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
