Hi @Jaynice,
Welcome to the HP Support Community.
I'd be glad to help you!
I’m sorry to hear your printer disconnected unexpectedly—let’s work together to get it reconnected and running smoothly again.
- Is the printer still powered on, and does the display show any error messages or connectivity icons?
- Have there been any recent changes to your Wi-Fi network, such as a new router or updated password?
- Are you trying to reconnect the printer to a computer, smartphone, or both?
Check Printer Wi-Fi Settings:
- On the printer’s control panel, go to Setup > Network Setup > Wireless Settings.
- Ensure Wi-Fi is enabled and reconnect to your network by selecting your Wi-Fi name and entering the password.
Restart Devices:
- Turn off the printer, computer, and router. Wait for about a minute, then turn them back on. This can resolve temporary connectivity glitches.
Re-add Printer to Devices:
- If using a computer, go to Printers & Scanners in your system settings, remove the printer, and then add it again.
- For mobile devices, open the HP Smart app, and follow the steps to re-add the printer.
Print a Network Configuration Report:
- On the printer, go to Setup > Reports > Network Configuration and print the report.
- Check if the printer is connected to the correct Wi-Fi network and has an active IP address.
Update Printer Firmware:
- If the printer connects but doesn’t stay connected, visit the HP Support Page to download and install the latest firmware for your printer.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance
