HP OfficeJet 3830 All-in-One Printer

I get this message whenever I try to print. This is a new problem for me. I am running Mac 14.2.1 Sonoma.

THe printer often turns itself off; that's never happened before. I reset the wireless. Last week I just waited and it finally printed about 15 minutes later. Tried that again today but no luck. Sometimes it will work if I unplug the printer and plug it back in.

Hi @JANMARIETTA,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

I'd be happy to help you!

I understand that you are facing issues with the printer not responding.

This could be compatibility issues with your current OS.

Click here and Install HP Easy Start

HP Easy Start is the new way to set up your HP printer and prepare your Mac for printing. HP Easy Start will locate and install the latest software for your printer and then guide you through printer setup.

If this does not help, let's perform a semi-full reset to restore the printer back to its original settings.

The reset instructions are specific to your printer and performing those steps on a different printer may brick the device.

I've sent you a private message with reset instructions, follow the reset instructions to perform a full reset and re-initialize the printer.

In order to access your private messages, click the private message icon on the upper right corner of your HP Community profile, next to your profile Name or simply click on this link.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted.

Please click “Accepted Solution” if you feel my post solved your issue, it will help others find the solution. Click the “Kudos/Thumbs Up" on the bottom right to say “Thanks” for helping!
