It says my HP Envy 5530 printer is "offline" so I can't print anything from my computer. I went through the Scan & Print Doctor to try to fix this issue. I did a test print and it did print. However, after that when I tried to print it won't print. I tried to unplug the power cord of my printer. After unplugging it and plugging it back in, I tried to print a document and it printed. Within a couple minutes later I tried to print another page and I got a notification on my screen saying that my printer was "offline." I went to the HP site to try to update my firmware and I downloaded it. When I tried to install the firmware, it did not recognize my printer on the screen, so I had no printer to select to update. Can someone help me resolve this issue? Thank you.

Hi @Christine14,

I'd like to help with the printer connectivity issue.

Set a manual IP-

To set a manual IP and try the steps below -

--->Touch on the wifi icon ((i)) on the printer, and take down the IP address

--->Open a web browser (ex Chrome or Mozilla) and type in the printer's IP

--->then go to network ---> general ---> network protocols ---> select IPV4 only-->apply

--->go to wireless ---> wireless 802.11---> select manual ip ---> apply

--->Enter 8.8.8.8 for the first DNS and 8.8.4.4 for the second DNS.

--->then go to settings on the main ews page --> power management ---> select sleep mode to max 15min

Connect the printer to TCP/IP port- follow the below instructions-

--->Touch on the wifi icon ((i)) on the printer, and take down the IP address

a. Click Start/Devices and Printers.  Right-click on your HP Printer.  Select Printer Properties.  Select the Ports tab at the top.

b.    Select Add Port.  Select Standard TCP/IP Port.  Select New Port.

c.    Follow the Add Port Wizard.  Under Printer Name or IP Address, .  Example:  192.168.1.15.  The IP address will be copied under Port Name.

d.    Select Next and Finish the Wizard.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted.

Thank you for your help. I typed in the IP address for my printer. Initially I was able to access it and I changed the setting to: "select IPV4 only." When I went to wireless 802.11 I didn't see anything that said "select manual IP." I went through the set up wizard and then immediately after that I could not access the IP address for my printer. Each time that I typed in the printer IP address it said "This site can't be reached. It took long to respond." I would like to finish the directions you provided, but I don't know how to be get to my printer IP address. Not sure why it would be taking too long to respond.

When you set a manual IP the printer IP address would change, please touch on the wireless icon on the printer to identify the updated IP.

Let me know if this helps!
